Before
becoming a hairdresser David Capaldo was a cosmetic chemist
formulating toiletries and make-up for a major cosmetics company.
This was the catalyst for David’s love for the technical
side of hairdressing. David originating from South London
began his career at the renowned Leonard’s salon in
Mayfair, learning his technical skills from the master of
colour Daniel Galvin. Other contemporaries at that time were
John Freida and a youthful Nicky Clarke.
During the 12 year period in Mayfair, David’s work was
involved in numerous high profile catwalk shows and fashion
shoots. David’s work has been featured in many glossy
magazines including Vogue, Harpers & Queen, Cosmopolitan
and 19. In 1983 David moved to Nottingham and established
Lemporio hair colour salon in the heart of the city centre
which has gained a reputation in the hairdressing industry
for its technical and creative excellence.
During the past 20 years David has formed a close relationship
with Italian hairdressing maestro Pino Chirico in Rome. Pino
has created an association called Cypris Diffusion consisting
of 90 hair salons throughout Italy and in 2000 David was given
the title of European Technical Director for the group. The
role ensures a close working relationship with a major product
company based in Bologna. Career highlights include work on
celebrity clients including Joanna Lumley, Lulu, Kate Bush,
Leslie Ashe, Lisa Goddard, Twiggy, Tom Jones, Pierce Brosnan,
Princess Michael of Kent and Queen Constantine of Greece to
name but a few, he has also worked for Central and Carlton
Television who have been based in Nottingham. |
